Monroe is a harmonious blend of majestic scenery, civic pride and rich heritage. Established in 1878 by pioneer settler Salem Woods.

We are 35 miles from Seattle and 17 miles from Everett or the Eastside — high tech corridors. With Monroe’s convenience to Seattle, Everett and the “Eastside,” many communities find this city to be their county hideaway.

Monroe is the largest community between Everett on Puget Sound and Wenatchee in Eastern Washington. It is the energetic hub of three major highways: State Hwy #2; Hwy #522 from the Eastside communities of Bellevue, Redmond and Woodinville; and Hwy 203 from Duvall and Snoqualmie Valley.

Annually, Monroe hosts one of Washington State’s largest fairs, the Evergreen State Fair. It serves as home to the above mentioned Equestrian Park and Stock Car Speedway—both nationally recognized.
