Lynnwood This south Snohomish County city possesses the largest concentration of retail businesses in the county. Lynnwood is the only city in Snohomish County where you can get a Nordstrom fix, thanks to the gigantic Alderwood Mall, a 1.3 million square foot megaplex located just off I-5.

Occupying a strategic position halfway between Everett and Seattle, Lynnwood existed solely as a crossroads until the end of the second world war. A flood of young families swarmed out of Seattle during the late 1940s looking for the peace and quiet of the suburbs. Many found Lynnwood.

Besides its massive shopping resources, Lynnwood possesses a number of features that help make it an ideal bedroom community. Area parks are well developed, and the Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course offers a relaxing yet challenging 18 holes. The Sno -King Ice Rink, located on Highway 99, offers free skating and ice hockey leagues.

Civic leaders have made the acquisition and display of public art a high priority. A series of 19 permanent public works are supplemented by an ever-changing series of public displays of sculpture, photography and paintings. All exhibits are managed by the Lynnwood Arts Commission.
